A Few Things About File Hosting

It would be greatly appreciated if uploaded files are hosted on Megaupload/Megaporn, as this host has the fewest restrictions of any of the file hosts. (1024 MB files can be uploaded and downloaded for free, and a large amount of data (I'm not clear on the exact amount, but it's enough to download at least one or two full-length DVDs) can be downloaded by free users before they have to wait any significant amount of time.) Do yourself a favor and sign up for a free account there as well before you upload so you can mange your uploads later.

It's fine to post links from other hosts if you're simply reposting a link to a file that another person uploaded, but if you are uploading the file yourself, please use Megaupload/Megaporn. If you want to go a little further when the file is on RapidShare, you can use Multiupload's Fetch ability to copy the file to multiple hosts before posting.

If the file you are uploading is under 1 GB, please upload it in one piece. If it's larger than 1 GB, break it into 1 GB pieces. It's extremely irritating having to download files in lots of tiny 100 MB pieces (I'm looking at you, MaxxRaven, as you refuse to listen to reason even after being asked for the upteenth time.)

This isn't aimed at anyone here who has already uploaded files, as you've all been wonderful and have done things correctly, but just as a reminder to anyone new who decides to upload files for the forum (which would be greatly appreciated if you have any tights/pantyhose-related files at all.)

I've been hearing more and more complaints about RapidShare, and all of them have been true (including the never-ending full servers errors.) Please, for the sake of yourself and everyone else, avoid RapidShare if at all possible!

It seems there are a multitude of crap hosts with bizzare restrictions that people on other websites are using. Here are the hosts that I would prefer people use for files uploaded to the forum:

Megaporn (sign up before using so you can manage uploads)
Megaupload (sign up before using so you can manage uploads)
Mediafire (for small files)

Other file hosts are very frustrating for us to use, so use these unless there is some circumstance that prevents you from doing so.
